Crystal Davis got her wish for the Crew’s long-awaited post-graduation trip. Sun and fun before focusing on her new career as a pediatric RN at St. Francis’ Children’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was just what she needed. Bonus? She met Troy Bennett, and she realized she wanted less frivolity in her life and a little more serious.
Troy Bennett is a man fighting the demons who tell him he is worthless every day of his life. Demons his mother conjured. He quiets them with alcohol and casual relationships, never allowing any woman to get close enough to him so he will never have to disappoint one. Then on the spur of the moment trip to Panama City Beach with his Ranger buddies, he sees the future he’s always been afraid to pursue exit a Jeep Wrangler at a local donut shop.
Just as Troy and Crystal are finding their footing, she gets the call she never thought she would earn: Crystal Davis is going to Hollywood to be a contestant on America’s Next Chart Topper. What started as a way to honor her murdered friend has now become her dream. Chasing her dream means leaving Troy behind for a bit, and she wonders if her absence will cause what they’ve built so far to come crashing down.
Chasing her dream also means she’s put herself in a place where she’s vulnerable to the side of Hollywood that no one wants to acknowledge. A place where people only care about her and Troy’s story for the audience while behind the scenes, evil, selfish people work to tear them apart.

In Your Eyes is set in the 3rd person. The viewpoints of both Crystal and Troy are given.
In Your Eyes begins with a prologue, where the reader is introduced to Crystal, as she and Amy, Sarah and Rin are stood at the memorial service of their best friend Hannah Reynolds. Hannah was murdered 4 years ago, and the case is still unsolved…
Crystal and the girls are on a long awaited holiday. The white sanded beach at Panama City and the fun nightlife are greeted head on especially when Crystal’s cousin, Kevin, who she hasn’t seen in 10 years and his 3 army friends join them on a night out at Coyote Ugly…
I would recommend reading the first book, Run to You, to gain a better understanding of what is happening in the series…
In Your Eyes is a fast paced, emotional detailed sweet romance, that shows a friendship between the main characters changing into a unforgettable love…
I like how Townsley has created a sense of realism by using Troy’s issues with alcohol as a platform. The Reader is able to see Troy uses different mechanisms to try to overcome things.
I felt like there was some sections which confused me and seemed to lack flow.
The character development of In Your Eyes is ok. The majority of the characters are likeable and relatable, but there are a few that you get a uneasy feeling with. Both of the main characters, Crystal and Troy have a good chemistry.
I really sympathise with Troy’s character especially when the reader is told about his childhood experiences, I am routing for him from the start. I find the mayor, Stewie Woods to be very smarmy from the description the reader is given.
I would recommend reading In Your Eyes to lovers of Contemporary Romance, as it is a clean romance that is a great read. Giving you a reason to be persistent in trying in relationships…
