The Legends and Shadows Saga

Rogue Unbroken, #3

Genre: Fantasy, Young Adult

Kate had survived. She had lived through pain and torment and now she was on the other side, where all the happiness was supposed to be. But with Alec’s vengeful punishment for escaping him, she can’t touch anyone without hurting them.

Alec still wants to create a Level Five and he’s dangerously close. That power under his control would mean unraveling the world as it stands. The world Kate has not yet started to enjoy. She won’t be able to rest until her body, her mind is fixed, and Alec won’t get his beloved power without her help.

The two warring sides of Rogues and Shadows will have to meet. Kate will have to confront Alec and his cruel ambition once again. But every moment with the Shadows is detrimental to those she loves, especially Kylan. So she must find a way to outsmart the person who taught her everything she knows, the most feared Shadow in the world.

Kate is strong. She survived once. But even the strongest people can break with the right pressure, and Alec is ready to tear her life apart.

First Impression

Rogue Unbroken is set in the 1st person. The alternate viewpoints of Kate/Mara and Kylan are given.

The reader is introduced to the story by Kate. Kate’s hand shake as she rides a elevator to her old office… Being in enclosed spaces still remind her of her experiences yet if she repeats the words Safe, Warm and Free often enough she hopes that she will believe them. It helps to have Kylan, her boyfriend by her side as she says a bye to the world she once knew…

I am looking forward to reading Rogue Unbroken and can’t wait to find out what happens next!

Rating: 3 out of 4.

I would recommend reading the first book in the series, Legend Undone to understand the characters and events of the story…A recap of the second book, Shadow Unbound is given at the beginning of Rogue Unbroken making it easier on the reader!

Continuing on from Shadow Unbound Rogue Unbroken is a fast paced story that has a good flow and let’s the reader jump straight the story where they left off previously…

I like how Day has created an engaging plot with a great amount of description and suspense…

The character development of Rogue Unbroken is good. The characters are relatable and interesting. The reader is reintroduced to characters and some new ones as the story unfolds…

I would recommend reading Rogue Unbroken to lovers of Young Adult Fiction, as it is a dramatic character driven story. The action and adventure leaps off the pages and hooks the reader into the story from the start to finish!
