First Impression
Meeting Her Mate is set in the 1st person with the alternate viewpoint of Alexis Richards and Will Grimm.
The reader is introduced to the action straight away by Alexis. Alexis is human form as she tries to get through the thick forest by hiding in thickets and bushes. She is not alone…and even though it would be easier to transform into a wolf she refuses to give in to her fear as she knows that by becoming a wolf, she would make herself an easier target. When she is finally spotted by a vampire she has no other choice than to change into her true form…a werewolf…
I am looking forward to reading Meeting Her Mate and can’t wait to find out what happens next
Meeting Her Mate is a detailed fast paced story that draws the reader in from the first page.
Eve has created an interesting plot by using research into folklore of vampires and werewolves. Eve use of scientific information about cell anatomy was very interesting. The writing style is easy to follow as the titled chapters make it easier to navigate the different characters. The was a good mixture of description and dialogue used however there was some repetition.
The character development of Meeting Her Mate has background information and flashbacks to help the reader connect with the characters. The characters are interesting and relatable. I felt that the sexual encounters between the main characters were very repetitive and I didn’t like the fact that the words for the characters’anatomy were changed frequently instead of being a fixed word.
Alexis was made an orphan at a young age and had to take care of herself, dealing with things such as poverty. She currently has two jobs, living hand to mouth and treated as an outcast by the other pack members. Alexis has become miserable and plans to escape Fiddler’s Green, which is controlled by vampires. She manages to evade them until she is finally cornered. Only to be surprised when Will appears just in time and they form a bond…
Will was the original alpha of the Grimm pack…he is thought to have died more than 70 years ago when he disappeared. When he first meets Alexis he believes that she is his beloved Ariana, who also happens to be Alexis’s grandmother. Still under the effects of drugs after been held prisoner he fights to protect Alexis…
I would recommend reading Meeting Her Mate to people who enjoy reading paranormal and shifter romances, as it is a character driven about the characters finding their one, true mate and overcoming all odds…
